Our Journey
Our roots trace back to the former Higher 16 Kebele 08, currently known as Woreda 07, in the Congo Veterans Settlement, Afaf Settlement, Asmara Road, and the neighboring settlements in Addis Ababa City, where we were born, raised, and educated. As we matured, reminiscing about our old neighborhood became a topic of conversation during various social events. This led to the creation of a Telegram channel, which attracted a large number of co-developers from both within and outside the country. Through the channel, we were able to exchange information regarding the wellbeing of our elderly parents and neighbors who reside in our old neighborhood. As a result, we decided to initiate a monthly fundraising program to provide financial assistance to those in need. Witnessing this philanthropic gesture, many individuals appreciated and joined in on the effort, including our family members, friends, and relatives. Consequently, we reached a consensus to establish the Congo and Neighborhood Development Association (CNDA) and legally register it with the relevant government body. We firmly believe that this will enable us to expand our outreach and operate lawfully. By doing so, we hope to leave a positive impact on our current and future generations.
